Wade Freytag

I would just like to tell you a little bit about Wade and who he was. Wade was born on August 27th, 2004, at Good Samaritan Hospital at about 6:45 am . He was born to Amy, and Barry Krohn, and 4 yr old brother Wyatt. And Wade came into our lives a half hour after getting to the hospital! Somebody should have mentioned, the second baby usually comes a little faster! Two weeks later it was discovered, during a checkup, Wade had a very complicated heart defect that needed to be corrected by open heart surgery. After an emergency helicopter trip to Doernbechers children's hospital he was stabilized and then underwent an 11 hour surgery to correct four different heart defects. Wade's aortic arch was too narrow, his greater arteries were on one side of his heart, and reversed. And he also had a hole in the middle wall of his heart. But with the miracle of surgery he was repaired all at once! And only had one other catheter procedure after that. For Wade's early life it was regular checkups and monitoring by his parents, family, and friends. Wade grew up with his brother Wyatt off of Bellfountain rd and then at our stable behind River Bend in south Corvallis. And for 3 years now, living at the peaceful Denue ranch. They were rough and tumble, playing and wrestling. Wade would try his hardest to keep up with Wyatt. And often times he would wind up in the ER either knocking out a baby tooth or dislocating his elbow.. I think the last time, a nurse walked through the waiting room and said" Hi Wade!" Because she had seen him most of those times and now we we're on a first name basis. Wade had a huge love for animals. In most of our pictures, he's with horses, mules, dogs and cats. The three horses, Mac, Catfish and Sara that he has with his mom were always quick to come to him before anyone else. He loved those horses, and it showed in how they responded to him. He just had a quiet mind, and peaceful demeanor that animals were drawn to. It wasn't unusual to see Wade walking through the barn with a cat on his shoulder. He really was a gentle, pure soul. The philomath school district was where Wade spent his schooling years. Enjoying class time with friends, school programs, and band. Wade really enjoyed watching his older brother play football and those big tackles! One of Wade's loves was 4H. It was a great time with country kids, raising project animals, meetings with lots of food, and of course, fair! Where he could run around with the other kids and camp out all week with the Gearys and Schmidts. Wade started off with sheep then moved to steers, which he truly enjoyed the most. Wade's last 2 steers, Stover and Leo were very sweet, and Wade was teary eyed for a few days after they were sold. Wade worked for a few places including Coastal Farms, Republic Services, Interfor sawmill and many horse and pet sitting gigs. And eventually, mom finally talked him into learning more about horseshoeing. He was trying hard and doing all of moms finish work. But he was also....always...very helpful to his mom. Setting up the anvil, the hoof stands, hand tools, and pretty often Wade would answer clients back on text if mom was driving. He was great at holding horses. He made them stand better by either; talking, petting, playing with their face, feeding snacks and sometimes if they were naughty, a little smack on the neck! Wade will be deeply missed by his; Mom, Amy, father Barry. Brother Wyatt and his wife Isabele, her father, Hiram. Sister's in law, Abby, Meg. Along with sweet nieces Tatum and Raegen. As well as; grandmother Roberta, aunts, Heidi,Juli, Jodi, and cousin,Titus. The Denue family; Paul, Junior, Breanna, and Chris. And our Schultz barn family, Tammy, Bill, Taylor, Annabelle, and Aaliya. And sweet dogs Moto and Vanna. We are going to miss Wade's constant smile, funny wit, and goofy sounds that make you smile. Please always keep him in your heart and mind as someone who didnt want you to be sad around him and would do what he could to make you laugh.
