Andrew Slaughter Noonan was born on August 12, 1968, to Norman and Martha Noonan, entering the world as part of a remarkable family tradition — the fourth generation born on the very same day. He grew up with a deep love for family, friendship, and community that would define his life. Growing up in Boise, he described his childhood as idyllic. A proud graduate of Boise High School’s class of 1986, he went on to attend Oregon State University, where he immersed himself fully in campus life. While at OSU he participated in ROTC, competed on the men’s track team, and became an active member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, later serving as Rush Chairman — a role that reflected his natural ability to bring people together. On July 21, 1990, he married Michelle Work, his wife of 26 years. After completing his undergraduate studies, he pursued his law degree at the University of Idaho. Even during law school, his commitment to mentorship and fraternity life remained strong as he served as alumni advisor for the Kappa Sigma chapter at Washington State University. Following graduation, he returned to Corvallis, where he built both a career and a community. He joined the law firm of Long, Delapoer, Healy, McCann, eventually becoming a partner, and continued to mentor students as an alumni advisor for Kappa Sigma at Oregon State. His dedication extended far beyond the office. He was a passionate supporter of Oregon State athletics, especially Beaver Baseball, serving on the Board of the Dugout Club and helping organize beloved events like the annual Diamond Dinner. Family was at the center of his world. He welcomed his first daughter in 1997 and his second in 2000, taking immense pride in being their father. Over the years, he and his family opened their home to Corvallis Knights baseball players that became lifelong friends and honorary family members. An active and respected member of the Corvallis community, he served as Rotary President from 2010–2011 and later as Board President of the Corvallis Country Club in 2017. He cherished time spent on the golf course, highlighted by winning the Corvallis Country Club Member Guest Tournament in 2009 with his close friend Chad — a victory that reflected both his competitive spirit and love of camaraderie. Outside of work and service, he embraced life’s simple joys: cooking for loved ones, escaping to the beach to surf, boogie board, and fish, and cheering passionately for the Atlanta Braves, Seattle Seahawks, Oregon State Beavers, and Boise State Broncos. A gifted storyteller and true master of puns, he had a knack for turning everyday moments into laughter, and the anecdotes of his shenanigans with friends could easily fill books. Christmas was his favorite season — one he celebrated with unmatched enthusiasm, warmth, and cherished traditions. He also lived by a favorite tongue-in-cheek motto, “If you can’t dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bullshit!” — a line that perfectly captured his humor and larger-than-life personality. He is survived by his daughters, Paige Noonan (Garrett Chalker) and Lucy Seabrook (Aaron Seabrook); his parents, Norman and Martha Noonan; his sister, Erin Fahnstrom; and his beloved niece and nephew, Mimi and Will. He will be remembered for his generosity, leadership, humor, and unwavering devotion to the people and communities he loved. A celebration of life will be held for Andy on February 13, 2026 at the Corvallis Club from 4:00-6:00PM.
