Linda Laine Lee

Linda Laine Lee was born on March 20, 1949 in Lily, South Dakota to Norma Forbes and James Forbes. She was the middle child of seven siblings in the Forbes family. Linda grew up traveling the world with her family with her father James Forbes (Ret. LTC) being part of the United States Air Force. She lived in many places including Panama, Louisiana, New York, Alaska, and others. In her early years, Linda loved sewing, adventuring, and was a majorette who competed in numerous state and national competitions. She attended West High school in Anchorage, Alaska where she met her husband, Michael Douglas Lee. They both attended Arizona State University and the University of Oregon. She moved back to Alaska with Michael and became a teacher with the Anchorage School District and later became a Professor of Mathematics for the University of Alaska Anchorage. Linda adored her two dogs Gandolf and Shadowmere, but Linda's ultimate dream was to be a parent, and she adopted her two children, Allison and Bryan from South Korea. Following the death of her husband, Linda dedicated her life to teaching and to her two children. During this time, she also worked for various educational institutions supporting a wide variety of community members including filming instructional videos. Linda was an amazing mom, often doing anything to give her children the best life possible despite many obstacles. Linda loved chocolate, sewing, crafting, and spending time with her children. Despite suffering from vascular dementia, Linda worked tirelessly to provide support and connection to her children and grandchild, Owen. She was an amazing mother, and up until the very end, she still recognized her children and loved them deeply. She passed away very peacefully early in the morning on a sunny May 27th, 2024 at the local hospice house in Oregon surrounded by her two children. Linda is survived by her daughter Allison Lee, her son Bryan Lee, and her grandson Owen Lee as well has her siblings Bobby Jackson, Ray Forbes, and Mark Forbes.
