Kathleen was born in Dallas, Oregon to Henry Barnabas and Doris Belle Coleman. She grew up in Dallas graduating from Dallas Senior High School. She was very active in First Presbyterian Church of Dallas with her family. In other activities while growing up, she achieved the highest level in Camp Fire Girls and learned many skills from 4-H instructors. She was very active in the Rickreall Bethel of Job’s Daughters attaining the highest level of Honored Queen. Upon graduating from High School, she attended Northwest Christian College and the University of Oregon in Eugene. She later graduated from Lane Community College as a Respiratory Therapist. She applied considerable artistic skills to everything she did and some of her paintings are cherished by family. Throughout her life she learned and applied many crafts. Making and stamping cards was one of her favorites and she often surprised family or friends with homemade gifts or unexpected cards of appreciation and compassion. She was a deep, thoughtful and nurturing person. She enjoyed textiles and created fabric covered jewelry boxes and lamp shades among other things. She loved cats and birds. Canaries became her favorite as she lived in apartments. She worked in hospitals in both Salem and Beaverton until she retired in 2001. She was always active in a church wherever she lived. She shared her warm smile and laugh easily. In 2015, she moved to Corvallis to be closer to her family. She leaves behind her older brother David Wayne & Dixie Lou Coleman of Millersburg (Elizabeth Ann and Steve Koza, Robert Bruce and Leslie Coleman) and her younger sister Mary B. Coleman Cotton and Bruce Cotton of Corvallis (Kacy B. Cotton Born and Brad Born and Luke Allen Cotton), 7 grandnieces and 2 grandnephews and her canary Sundance.
