Carole F. Parnell

4/19/1937 – 5/18/2015 Carole Faye Parnell, 78, of Corvallis passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2015. Carole was born Carole Faye Burright in Iowa on April 19th, 1937 to parents Ferol and Charlotte Burright. Although born in Iowa, she spent all but six months of her life living within a one-mile radius in the Corvallis/Philomath area. Attending local schools, she completed her schooling at Corvallis High School and began work as a roller skating waitress at the "Toot and Tell" restaurant on Philomath Boulevard where she met Rex Parnell, one of her admiring customers. When Rex first laid eyes on Carole he told his companions "I'm going to marry that girl!" And, he did on November 24, 1954. Married for 61 years Rex passed away just two months ago on March 3rd. Inseparable for all those years, Carole is now able to join her beloved Rex as per their longstanding agreement "in the Northeast corner of Heaven". Carole and Rex were all about family and raised two lovely daughters, Cindy and Patty. Family life revolved around church, camping, boating and spending time with a vast array of cherished friends and family. Carole will also be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and great capacity for fun. She loved life, loved people and so enjoyed entertaining friends with her stories and humorous antics. A master artist, Carole's oil paintings of landscapes, ocean scenes and flowers are cherished by the many who own them. For several years she traveled the nation as a representative of Grumbacher Art Products demonstrating how to paint and loved telling stories of her exciting travels. Carole is survived by her daughters Cindy and her husband Buster of Albany, Patty and her husband Scott of Central Point; her grandchildren Dustin and Heidi; Heidi's husband Brandon and three delightful great-grandsons Paden, Kole Henry and Shawn. She is also survived by her brothers Bud Burright, Ron (Sharon) Burright, Larry (Lisa) Burright, Danny (Sherry)Burright and Mike (Jan) Burright; her sister Barbie (Don) Stevenson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Kenny Burright and sister Betty Green. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday May 26th at the Suburban Christian Church in Corvallis with reception following.
