Jeff Alexander

Our beloved son and brother Jeffrey — known as “Jeff” to most— passed away on March 4, 2025 in Corvallis, Oregon, he was 60 years old. He was born and lived in Santa Clara, California until a move to Oregon ten years ago. He lived life to the fullest marching to the beat of his own drum in his independent fashion with love and laughter for his friends and family and those he met along the way. He earned an AA degree from West Valley College and was just short of his Bachelor’s Degree from University of California Davis when he became Brewmaster and designed the brewing system at Los Gatos Brewing Company. Jeff was an award winning Winemaker, Brewmaster and Master Distiller. His passion for his craft was evident every day of his adult life: Alexander Cellars for fine wine; Sarticious Gin for gin; TheTides for Vodka, Rum, Cinn City Whiskey & Coffee Liqueur. Jeff also consulted and distilled for many companies. Skagway Spirits in Alaska was a favorite especially with his dear friend, Gary Heger. But he was a man of many talents who loved the ocean and sailing, music, glider flying, singing, art, golfing and much more. He built VW and Porsche engines in his teens and restored a Karmann Ghia with a Polar Blue exterior that people still remember and discuss. He is deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his mom Dee and his brother Pete, his nieces and their spouses: Amanda Gorman (husband Joel and great nephew Michael) and Erica Rutlidge (husband Chase and great niece Presslee). He was preceded in death by his Dad Wilson and brother Michael. A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held on March 30, 2025 from 12:00 - 4:00 pm in Downtown Willow Glen in San Jose, CA.
