Gloria May Kiger-Cameron, of Corvallis, most recently she resided at the Mennonite Village Care Center in Albany, went peacefully to her eternal rest on July 27, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born July 19, 1926 in Nimshew, CA at her Grandmother's house. Her parents were Harry and Julia Leggett Campbell. On March 19, 1944 she married William H. Kiger in Redding, CA. They divorced in 1977. They had two daughters. On June 6th, 1981 she married Ron Cameron. They were married until his death 1983. She attended Chico High School in CA. She danced for the USO at the age of 16 during WW2. Entering the workforce at the age of 16 as well at the Sears Company. She would go on to hold jobs at Diamond Match Company, a cook at Smiley's restaurant in Philomath, and the cannery in Corvallis. In her later life she worked as a caretaker for the elderly. In her spare time, Gloria loved music, as she could pluck out a tune on a piano or organ without ever learning to read music. She also loved to read books including mysteries and Daniele Steel books, which were her favorites. She loved to knit and made beautiful sweaters, hats and slippers for her grandchildren. She loved the English mysteries most especially on her favorite network PBS. She loved to hunt and fish, and would almost always get her elk every year. She loved her family with a passion, and would back this with not only words but with actions. She loved to cook for them and being around them so she could enjoy them as they enjoyed her. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; her brother Jim Campbell; sisters Jewel Adkins, and Bernice Juanarena; as well as one grandson, Earl T. Low in 1965. She is survived by her daughters, Naoma Jones and her husband Don of Philomath and Sharon White of Albany; one sister Virginia Anderson of Loomis, CA; five grandchildren Crystal Jones, Brenda Hanson and her husband Thom, Cathy Nutter and her husband Paul all of Springfield, William Jones of Philomath, and Jennifer Kiger of Alaska; 11 Great grandchildren Brittnay and Donovan Hanson, Caitlyn, Isabel and Sophia Jones, Kristopher Kiger, Jared, Talia and Kayla Clark, Daniel and Tanisha Nutter; and 6 great-great grandchildren Lyle, Wyatt, Cassidy, Aiden, Noah, and Vinnic. Services are pending at this time. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your local hospice center.
