Dorothea Anna Rigor

Dorothea A. Rigor passed away with two of her daughters at her side, at her daughter Anne Rigor’s home. She was born at 121 S.W. Ninth St., Corvallis, on April 30, 1926, to Raymond and Pearl Daily. She grew up in Corvallis, was a Girl Scout and a member of the Rebecca Lodge, attending high school at Corvallis High School. She attended OSU and was a member of the OSU symphony playing the violin. She worked for the telephone company. She married Paul Rigor on Sept. 9, 1951. She was a farm wife and an active member of the Irish Bend community. She hoed mint, corn and beans for the neighbor in order to buy a camper. She enjoyed many, many camping trips with her children, especially to the beach. She became a cook for the Corvallis School District in 1965. She cooked at numerous Corvallis schools during her 30 year career as a cook. She was the best cherry pie baker in Benton County. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren camping to the beach in her van. She enjoyed shopping for antiques and even made a trip back to Kansas for some. In her last years she enjoyed reading and watching movies and trips to the beach. She loved to get licorice ice cream in Newport. Her niece, Carolyn, would get her the movies and ask, didn’t I just get you that one, and her reply was “I wore it out.” She really enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and took a trip to Texas in November of 2014 for her grandson Ryan’s wedding. She is survived by her daughters, Anne Rigor, Susan Trudell and Pam Rigor; son Bruce Rigor (Carla); grandchildren Vickie Tucker (Jim), Cheri Jensen (Andrew), Alice Rigor, Ryan Kinkade (Vanessa), Rochel Kinkade, Christopher Zimmerman (Nichole), Matthew Zimmerman (Trisha), Marcus Rigor (Chelsie), and Jonathan Rigor; great-grandchildren Tonya Jensen, Jeremy Jensen (Ericha), Naomi Jensen, Daniel Tucker, Hannah Tucker, Ruth Tucker, Hailey Kinkade, Bradley Zimmerman, Caden Zimmerman, Peyton Kinkade, Juliana Kinkade, Stella Kinkade, Cayden Dalton and Nhaya White; and nieces Deanne Brown and Carolyn Hemmer (Dennis). She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Pearl Daily; brothers Lloyd Daily, Wallace Daily and Delmer Daily; and her sister Louise Locy and husband Paul Rigor; son Steven Rigor; and grandson Joshua Kinkade. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Suburban Christian Church, 2760 S.W. 53 Road, Corvallis. Live plants in lieu of fresh flowers would be preferred. Memorial donations can be made in Dorothea Rigor’s name to Oregon Agriculture Education Foundation, 1320 Capitol St. N.E., Suite 200, Salem, OR 97301.
