Brandon Stone

Brandon passed away and went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Nov. 4. He succumbed to his illness, one which only Divine Hands, not human, could cure. Brandon was born March 9, 1994, in Pullman, Wash. He is the son of Kevin W. Stone, an educational assistant, and Andrea L. Weston, a doctor of veterinary medicine. He attended Garfield Elementary School and Linus Pauling Middle School, and was currently attending Corvallis High School. Brandon struggled with depression, but was best known for his terrific smile and his uncanny ability to make his friends, family and many others laugh and smile. He had a special gift for showing kindness and caring toward others when they most needed it and no one else noticed. He also had a deep and passionate love for animals, whom he felt needed someone to protect and defend them. He loved his dogs Pearl and CJ with all his heart, and knew they unconditionally loved him back. Brandon was passionate about playing soccer, and said it was the one thing that always made him happy. Brandon loved music and was a great singer and dancer, an extremely talented writer, and a perfectionist, almost to a fault. Brandon loved the spirit of life, and loved to see people flourish, grow and change for the better. He loved helping and taking care of others, even though he was unable to help or take care of himself. He enjoyed seeing new places and doing new things, was always willing to take on new adventures, and always liked them. Water and snow sport adventures were some of his favorites, and he had no fear of pushing himself to the limit. So many people loved and cared for Brandon; he will be greatly missed and always remembered. Brandon is survived by his parents: his mother, Dr. Andrea Weston and Richard Humphrey of Corvallis, and his father, Kevin W. Stone and Julie Bozzi of Salem; brothers, Blaze Amodei and wife Kenzi of Bend, and Cameron Stone of Corvallis; grandfather, Gary Colgren of Seattle, Wash.; grandparents, Adrian and Rosie Stone of Alsea; uncle Richard Colgren and wife Nell Justice of Palmdale, Calif.; uncle Kenny Stone and wife Rhonda of Philomath; uncle Kurt Stone and wife Laura of Salem; and numerous cousins. Visitation is set for 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at McHenry Funeral Home. Funeral services for close friends and family will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14, at McHenry Funeral Home in Corvallis. A small family gathering and burial at Buena Vista Cemetery will take place following the service. There will also be a memorial service for all of Brandon’s friends, family and classmates at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at Corvallis High School. Memorial contributions can be made at any Citizens Bank branch office to the Brandon D. Stone Memorial Fund to benefit the White Wolf Sanctuary of Tidewater. This was a place that was very near and dear to Brandon’s heart.
