Patricia Todd

Patricia (Patty) Todd of Corvallis passed on to the Lord quietly March 21, 2015 with her children by her side at the Evergreen Hospice of Albany. Patty had battled cancer for a year. Born on August 16, 1948, to George and Marjorie Haggett and raised in Sacramento, California, she learned to love the art of making beautiful things. She then transferred this love to a University degree in Home Economics from Oregon State in 1970. There she met and married her husband of 45 years, John (Jay) Todd. After college, they began their adventure building a family as the Navy moved them from California to Idaho and finally Northern Virginia. Here she continued making beautiful things including wedding dresses for her daughter, her daughter-in-laws, and many clothes for her children. She worked in and managed fabric shops and adhered to the philosophy that she who has the most fabric wins. Soon all this fabric was masterfully designed into quilts that kept her children, grandchildren and friends warm. Pat extended her loving gracious hand to her church, Bethel United Methodist Church in Woodbridge Virginia. She headed up the Angel Tree project, made inspiring wall hangings and served as chairperson of the church council. Although she worked and served outside her home, she considered her children and grandchildren her greatest success. She poured her heart into her kids at soccer games, track meets, countless gourmet meals and memorable vacations. Pat and Jay moved back to Oregon in 2010, but they traveled to the Outer Banks annually to host a family reunion for their growing legacy. As grandkids grew up, she adored sharing her love for beauty at an annual granny-nanny camp with many crafts and memorable field trips. Pat is survived by her husband John (Jay), children, Sean (Shelli) Todd, Michelle (Peter) Dunn, Bryon (Terri) Todd and Patrick (Amanda) Todd, 15 grandchildren, her mother, Marjorie Haggett and sister, Coleen Haggett. A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 28th at the First Baptist Church of Corvallis. Donations in her name can be made to Evergreen Hospice.
