Keith Ben Wilson

It is with extreme sadness and heavy heart to announce the passing of Keith Ben Wilson who went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2022. Keith was a generous soul and will be deeply missed by so many! We were unprepared for this unexpected loss and will continue to grieve over missed opportunities with this precious man! Keith was born in Shelby Mississippi on November 20, 1948 to Keith Burdett Wilson and Melba Lucille Millican in Bolivar County. He attended Colliverville High School and went to Delta State College for a term. He later went on to have a long career in the telecommunications industry as a central office installer/supervisor. He is survived by his brother Tim Wilson and sister Toni Lynn Harmon who currently reside in Texas with their spouses. He also has long list of aunts, uncles’ nieces, nephews and cousins on the Wilson and Millican sides of the family who loved him. He made every effort to continue these relationships and cherished them greatly. Keith is survived by a legacy of children and grandchildren; Randy Ackerman, Tammy Hills-Ackerman, Wendy Liebman and spouse Brian Liebman, Kim Casey and spouse Delbert Casey, Stephanie Wilson, Cody Ackerman and mother of Cody Carol Urquhart, Megan Hills, Emily Paul and Jessica Paul, Barrett Liebman and Hastin Liebman. Affectionately known as Pars or G-pa, once he retired from the telecommunications industry in his mid 60’s, he developed an adventurous spirit by trying new things. He had a love for all things culinary. You need not look further than the kitchen or a divey restaurant to find him experimenting or critiquing all sorts of cuisine! Dad also took up golf in his mature age and enjoyed a yearly tournament with old friends from his work life. Anyone close to him can tell you that he loved reading, watching YouTube videos of survivalist, The Voice and our personal favorite, the Hallmark Channel. He became a certified armature HAM radio operator and enjoyed tinkering with small electronics. He loved the open road and ventured out to experience the freedom and landscapes of the entire western part of the US and Texas while stopping in to say hello to family! Dad overcame a multitude of obstacles in his life and all with a quiet resolve and gentle spirit even though his heart ached as with the deaths of his beloved wife and life partner Linda A. Yeo and later his companion and wife Cheryl DeYoung. He had to say goodbye to his parents in recent years too. He has raised children and grandchildren. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him appreciated his non-judgmental attitude and his mellowed spirit that came with age and grace. He had a heart for his family and without hesitation came to the aid of many of us when we were in need. Such a gift Keith was to his family that it cannot be measured. Though our hearts are broken as we would have loved more time with Keith, we rest in the thought that he is now in the arms of Jesus and we will endeavor to see his precious soul again. His life will be honored on February 28th, 2022 at McHenry Funeral Home Chapel at 206 NW 5th Street, Corvallis Oregon 97330 at 11:00 am. Burial will be directly following the Celebration of Life ceremony located at Pine Grove Cemetery, 30383 Peoria Road, Shedd, OR 97377
